MYND domain
[MYND domains]
named after myeloid translocation protein 8, Nervy, DEAF-1 [deformed epidermal autoregulatory factor-1], in which this domain has been found.
This domain is a cysteine-rich zinc-binding domain of approximately 40-60 amino acids that ligates two zinc ions. Unlike the better known classical zinc finger domains, this domain does not bind DNA, but instead mediates interactions with other proteins (Matthews et al, 2009; Kateb et al, 2013).
