abbr. MEP (a term with multiple meanings). This enzyme has been characterized by Kawabata and Davie (1992) and Kawabata et al (1993). Sequence analysis shows that the enzyme is identical with AGTBP [Angiotensin-binding protein; angiotensin-2 binding protein] and Oligopeptidase M. The approved name is neurolysin (approved gene symbol: NLN).
