also: Motility factors or simply motogens. A general term for cytokines that influence the dissociation and dispersal of cells in ways other than motility and migration affected by chemotaxis (Stoker and Gherardi, 1991). These factors are sometimes called also Cell scattering factors (abbr. CSF). These collective terms are operational definitions. There is no structural basis that would allow different factors to be classified as motogenic cytokines.
