NCL-2
This mouse mast cell cell line has been established by Hiragun et al (2014) from NC mouse bone marrow. NC mice are an inbred strain from Japanese fancy mice that spontaneously develop eczema and elevation of serum IgE and are regarded as a mouse model of atopic dermatitis (Matsuda et al, 1997). Bone marrow-derived mast cells from NC mice possess higher histamine content, higher adhesive ability, and especially, lack of apoptosis upon growth factor deprivation (Hiragun et al, 2000).
NCL-2 cells grow without IL3 or SCF but need fetal calf serum for growth. NCL-2
