This cell type, found in mucosal tissues, has been described by Satoh-Takayama et al (2010). These cells differ from lymphoid tissue inducer cells and are considered a subpopulation of innate lymphoid cells (group 3 innate lymphoid cells) that express NKp46 and produce IL22 but not IL17A. NCR22 cells identified in mucosal tissues have been called also NKR-LTi cells, ILC22 [IL22-producing innate lymphoid cells], and NK-22 cells. They, or a subpopulation, are most likely the same as a cell type described independently as non-B/non-T-cells (see: Spits et al, 2013 for nomenclature).
