NDRG4

[N-Myc downstream regulated-4] The gene encoding this human cytoplasmic protein has been cloned by Zhou et al (2001) and Qu et al (2002). These authors have described also three splice isoforms. NDRG4-B is expressed only in the brain and spinal cord neurons. NDRG4-H is expressed in both brain and heart. The third variant is a minor isoform of NDRG-4B. NDRG4 is a member of a protein family consisting of three other NDRG proteins. The expression of these proteins is upregulated during cell differentiation, repressed by N-myc and cellular myc in embryonic cells, and suppressed in several tumor cells ... ... ... ... ...
