NGR peptides
[NGR peptide]
These peptides are linear or cyclic peptides containing the NGR (Asn-Gly-Arg) sequence with different flanking residues. They have been identified as integrin-binding peptides by in vitro and in vivo screening of phage display libraries (Arap et al, 1998; Koivunen et al, 1993, 1994, 1995; Pasqualini R et al, 1995; for overview see also: Corti et al, 2008).
Many of the peptide containing the NGR motif act as tumor homing peptides and have been used for delivering cytokines, chemotherapeutic drugs, peptides that promote apoptosis, and liposomes to tumor blood vessels expressing a specific
