[NK-like B-cell]
[natural killer-like B-cells]; abbr. NKB-cells. This cell type, found in mice, humans, and rhesus macaques (Wang S et al, 2016; Manickam C, 2018) appears to constitute a separate subpopulation of innate B-cells. The cells express CD19 and NK1.1, and their identity seems unique and is distinct from that of NK-cells and B-cells. They reside mainly in the spleen and mesenteric lymph nodes. The cells have been shown to produce large amounts of IL18 and IL12, and, consequently, are able to activate type 1 innate lymphoid cells and NK-cells
