[progenitor cells of the endothelium and trabeculum] These cells are stem-like cells found in the posterior limbus of the bovine eye between the corneal endothelium and trabecular meshwork (Yu et al, 2015). Floating spheres cultured from both anatomical locations show similar stem cell marker expression patterns. The cells are bipotent and highly proliferative, but with limited capability to form secondary spheres. They are highly prone to differentiate back into the cell type of their tissue of origin (corneal endothelial cells and trabecular meshwork cells).
