[proteoglycan-1] PG I or DSPGI [dermatan sulfate proteoglycan-1] is one (the larger) of two species of small proteoglycans with chondroitin sulfate chains found originally in bovine bone (Rosenberg et al, 1985). Fisher et al (1989) have cloned the cDNA and suggested that PG I be called biglycan as it carries two glycosaminoglycan chains.
