[peptide mimetic]
small peptides usually isolated from random peptide libraries displayed on filamentous phages that bind to and activate a receptor of cytokines in a fashion similar to the cytokine itself. The sequences of these peptides are not necessarily found in the primary sequences of the cytokines in question.
