R-spondin-1

[roof plate-specific spondin] This is the same as R-spondin. Abbr. Rspo (Rspo-1). R-spondin-1 has been identified by Kamata et al (2004) as a gene expressed in the dorsal neural tube. The protein appears to be a nuclear protein but can be secreted also. R-spondin-1 has been identified independently as Cristin-3.

Kim et al (2005) have reported that R-spondin-1 is expressed in enteroendocrine cells and in epithelial cells in various tissues. Zhao et al (2007) have localized R-spondin-1 protein to villus epithelium and crypt Paneth cells in mouse small intestine.

Injection of the protein into mice induces rapid onset of crypt ... ... ... ... ... Subscribe to continue reading! ... ...
