[regulatory protein T-lymphocyte-1] This murine protein of 41 kDa (353 amino acids) is called also Down regulatory protein of interleukin-2 receptor. The protein is found in the cell nucleus of resting T-cells, but not by CD4(+) T-cells after cell activation. It inhibits the expression of the alpha chain of the receptor for IL2 (Patarca et al, 1988). In databanks, the gene is being referred to also as Trim30a (Trim30-alpha) [tripartite motif-containing 30A], because it is a member of a larger group of proteins containing a tripartite motif.
