[small inducible cytokine A26] The cDNA encoding this member of the CC-Chemokines was identified in an Expressed Sequence Tag database. The deduced protein is related to MIP-1-beta (41 % identity) and MIP-1-alpha, RANTES, and MCP-4 (40 % identity). The protein has been shown to be Eotaxin-3 and to be identical with IMAC, MIP-4-alpha, and TSC-1. The human gene maps to chromosome 7q11.2. The approved gene symbol is CCL26.
