Staurosporine
abbr. STP. Staurosporine is a microbial alkaloid isolated from Streptomyces species.
It has antifungal and hypotensive activities and is one of the most potent general inhibitors of protein kinases including protein kinase C, protein kinase A, p60v-src protein kinase, and EGF receptor-encoded protein kinase.
Staurosporine shows a strong cytotoxic effect on the growth of various mammalian cells. It also induces differentiation and affects various functions of platelets and smooth muscle cells
