(approved gene symbol) [T-cell leukemia/lymphoma protein 1A] abbr. also: TCL1 [T-cell leukemia/lymphoma protein 1]. The gene encoding TCL1A has been cloned and characterized by Virgilio et al (1994) and Fu et al (1994). Virgilio et al (1994, 1998) have reported that TCL1A functions as an oncogene and is involveed in the development of T-cell malignancies and causes T-cell leukaemia in mice.
