A human premyeloid cell line established from a patient with erythroleukemia. The survival of these cells is supported by IL1, IL4, IL6, and M-CSF. TF-1 cells are employed for bioassays of various cytokines and proliferates in response to IL3, IL4, IL5, GM-CSF, Epo, and SCF (stem cell factor). Guinea pig and murine IL5 are active on TF-1 cells (Scott et al, 2000).
