[Toll-like receptor-23] TLR23 is a toll-like receptor found in fish only (Palti, 2011). This receptor, like other toll-like receptors, probably plays a role in innate immunity by acting as a pattern recognition receptor.
Two paralogs of TLR23 have been described in the Atlantic cod (Gadus morhua) (Sundaram et al, 2012). They have been termed TLR23a [Toll-like receptor-23a], TLR23b [Toll-like receptor-23b].
