TP508 (AGYKPDEGKRGDACEGDSGGPFV), known also as Chrysalin, is a peptide derived from alpha-Thrombin. TP508 represents human alpha-Thrombin(551-573). It lacks the catalytic site of alpha-Thrombin but contains the RGD sequence, which mediates effects on endothelial cells by allowing interactions with integrins (Tsopanoglou et al, 2004).
The peptide has been shown to accelerate wound healing (Norfleet et al, 2000). This is due, at least in part by promoting angiogenesis. The peptide has been shown to support angiogenesis in the chicken Chorioallantoic membrane assay
