Washington et al (2002) have identified human and mouse TREML1. The receptor contains an inhibitory ITIM motif and a sequence that can interact with SH3 domains. TREML1 is expressed abundantly in bone marrow, but not in lymphocytes. The protein is expressed exclusively in platelet alpha granules and megakaryocytes.
