[Thyrotropin releasing hormone; Thyreotropin releasing hormone] Also: TRF [TSH releasing factor; Thyrotropin releasing factor]. An older designation still in use is Thyroliberin (also: thyreoliberin). As a drug, TRH is marketed as Protirelin.
This peptide hormone has been isolated originally from mammalian hypothalamus (Boler et al, 1969; Burgus et al, 1969).
