[Triad domain-containing protein 3] The approved gene symbol for this protein is RNF216 [RING finger protein 216]. The gene encoding TRIAD3 has been cloned by Chen et al (2002), who referred to it as ZIN [Zinc finger protein inhibiting NF-kappa-B]. The protein contains 2 RING finger domains flanking a conserved cysteine-rich zinc-binding domain called a double RING finger-linked (DRIL) domain. Chuang and Ulevitch (2004) have identified 5 splice variants with TRIAD3A [Triad domain-containing protein 3A] being the most prominent species. A databank synonym is
