TfNCF

[Tritrichomonas foetus neutrophil chemotactic factor] TfNCF (approximately 22-24 kDa) was isolated from the crude extract of Tritrichomonas foetus organisms. Antibodies against TfNCF cause almost complete protection against T. foetus infection in mice. The factor is chemotactic for neutrophils (see also: Chemotaxis). Granger et al (1997) have identified the chemotactic factor as a homolog of iron-containing superoxide dismutase (SOD).
