[Tityus stigmurus Hypotensin] This peptide with the sequence ADMDFTGIAESIIKKIKETNAKPPA has been isolated from the venom of the Brazilian scorpion Tityus stigmurus. TistH potentiates the hypotensive action of bradykinin (Machado et al, 2015). Almeida et al (2012) have cloned the cDNA. For related peptides see also: Hypotensins.
Machado et al (2016) have reported that the peptide is not cytotoxic to normal cell lines (3T3, RAW and HEK) or cancer cell lines (HeLa, B16, 786-0, SiHa and HepG2) and does not cause inflammation
