This bovine antimicrobial peptide (NPVSCVRNKGICVPIRCPGSMKQIGTCVGRAVKCCRKK) has been isolated from bovine tracheal mucosa by Diamond et al (1991). The peptide is a member of the Beta-Defensin family of antimicrobial peptides and its homolog is beta-Defensin-2.
