[Vaccinia virus M2L protein] This protein is encoded in the genome of Vaccinia virus. It is thought to participate in immune evasion by virtue of its ability to reduced nuclear translocation of the p65 of NF-kappa-B and to inhibit. It has been shown to inhibit NF-kappa-B activation via an ERK2 pathway in virus-infected human embryonic kidney cells (Gedey et al, 2006).
