Wntless

abbr. WLS (which is also the approved gene symbol). A previous symbol is C1orf139 [chromosome 1 open reading frame 139].

Wntless is a multipass transmembrane protein that is highly conserved in metazoans from worms to humans. For example, human Wntless is 96 % identical to mouse Wntless and 78 % identical to the zebrafish protein. The protein is expressed ubiquitously in many tissues and cell types (Jin et al, 2010; Wang et al, 2012; Yu et al, 2010).
