[Xg blood group antigens]
The Xg antigen or XG is a glycoprotein blood group antigen expressed in red cell precursors (Ducos et al, 1971; Mann et al, 1962; Gavin et al, 1964; Sanger et al, 1971, 1977).encoded by a gene originally identified as PBDX [pseudoautosomal boundary region, X-linked] by Ellis et al (1994, 1994), so named after is location at the pseudoautosomal boundaries between pseudoautosomal and sex chromosome-specific DNA on the X chromosome and adjacent to the gene encoding the CD antigen CD99.
