This peptide is derived from alpha-lactalbumin and consists of the disulfide-bonded subfragments alpha-lactalbumin(61-68) with the sequence CKDDQNPH and alpha-lactalbumin(75-80) with the sequence ISCDKF. The peptide is generated by trypsin digestion (Pellegrini et al, 1999) and has been shown to possess antimicrobial activities, being active against Gram-positive bacteria.
