this collective term (abbr. also: AMP chemokines [antimicrobial peptide chemokines] (also: microbicidal chemokines) refers to members of various subgroups of chemokines that, apart from their role in chemotaxis for leukocytes and other bioactivities, also possess direct activities of antimicrobial peptides and thus may play a role in immune surveillance (Wolf and Moser, 2012).
Chemokines with antimicrobial activities include CCL1, CCL6, CCL11, CCL13, CCL14, CCL15, CCL17, CCL18, CCL19
