(-1-) BRC canopy cells [bone remodeling compartment canopy cells] this cell type is found at the interface of bone marrow and a bone remodeling site (Andersen et al, 2009; Hauge et al, 2001; Jensen et al, 2012, 2014). The cells belong to the osteoblast lineage and may serve as progenitors of bone forming osteoblasts (Kristensen et al, 2014). This cell type, or subpopulations are most likely the same cells described by others with the more general designation BLCs [
