[cell-cell adhesion molecule 105] This rat glycoprotein is involved in recognition and adhesion between isolated rat hepatocytes in vitro and has been purified by Odin et al (1986). Different isoforms show different adhesion functions, with long cell-CAM105 isoforms, but not short isoforms, found to aggregate cells (Cheung et al, 1993). This rat protein has been shown to be rat liver ecto-ATPase (Lin et al, 1991; Cullic et al, 1992). The protein corresponds to CD66a. See also: CBATP [canalicular bile acid transport protein].
Edlund et al (1993) have reported the existence of different isoforms of cell-CAM 105, and refer to them as C-CAM1a [
