[cochlear nucleus stellate cell]
These cells are one of several types of neurons of the auditory pathway (for other types of neurons in the cochlear nucleus see also: tuberculoventral cells, bushy cells, octopus cells). Some of the stellate cell types constitute major projection neurons into the brainstem and directly into the inferior colliculus, while others have been implicated in more local processing.
