collagen synthesis inhibitory factor

abbr. CSIF (a term with multiple meanings). This poorly factor of approximately 55 kDa and a pI of 6.2 is found in the conditioned medium of human peripheral blood lymphocytes. The factor inhibits collagen synthesis by cultured human dermal fibroblasts (Rosenblom et al, 1983). Jiminez et al (1985) have shown that the factor is produced constitutively by some cell lines derived from leukemic T-lymphocytes and that its synthesis can be stimulated by phorbol esters.
