This term (variously also: collective cell death, coordinated cell death, apoptosis-induced apoptosis; abbr. AiA; and in various contexts also non-autonomous apoptosis or non-autonomous cell death) pertains to a process by which dying cells can induce synchronised cell death in their neighbouring cells (see also: non-cell-autonomous death).
