various inhibitors of the biological activities of IL1 have been described under this name. They appear to differ from the 16-18 kDa forms and 22.24-kDa glycosylated species of the IL1 receptor antagonist IL1ra.
Scala et al (1984) have reported the existence of a factor (95 kDa) produced by the Epstein-Barr virus-transformed human B-cell line, ROHA -9. This factor inhibits the response of mouse thymocytes to IL1. It also inhibits the response of murine thymocytes to suboptimal (1 microgram/mL) but not optimal (10 micrograms/mL) doses of Concanavalin A and the response of human peripheral blood lymphocytes to
