eurydendroid cells

[eurydendroid cell]

also: eurydendroid neurons. This term has been used tof refer to a population of cerebellar projection neurons in teleost brains (Nieuwenhuys et al, 1974). The cells are cerebellar efferent neurons (output cells) that provide direct cerebellar output to other brainstem structures. In teleosts, these neurons are localized with Purkinje cells in a single layer and do not form a circumscribed, deep cerebellar nucleus. Murakami and Morita (1987) have classified eurydendroid cells into two types (A and B) on the basis of dendritic morphology, intracerebellar distribution, and other afferent connections. In zebrafish, Bae et al (2009) have distinguished two different types of these cells ... ... ... ... ... Subscribe to continue reading! ... ...
