frizzled-related protein

abbr. FRP (a term with multiple meanings). A human 36 KDa protein found in the conditioned medium of a cell line established from human embryonic lung fibroblasts. The factor copurifies with HGF (Finch et al, 1997). This protein is the human homolog of Drosophila melanogaster frizzled. The protein has been isolated independently as SARP-2 and is known also as sFRP1 [secreted frizzled-related protein 1].
