abbr. MHV-68 ORF 74 [murine herpesvirus 68 ORF 74]. This protein is encoded by open reading frame 74 of murine gammaherpesvirus 68. The gene encodes a G-protein-coupled receptor with close homology to the IL8 receptor (Virgin et al, 2007). A similar gene is found in Kaposi sarcoma-associated herpesvirus. The murine protein is expressed during acute infection but also during persistence, particularly in the lungs of infected mice (Wakeling et al, 2001).
