abbr. GMG cells. These murine cells proliferate and differentiate within the murine uterus during pregnancy (Tarachand, 1986). The cells are maternally derived and represent specialized subpopulations of NK-cells with limited cytolytic functions (Croy and Kiso, 1993; Head, 1996-97; Wang et al, 2003). These cells respond to IL2 and IL15 (Allen and Nilsen-Hamilton, 1998). They produce cytokines such as IFN-gamma, IL18 and IL27 (Croy et al, 2003).
