[LAMA1(121-133); LN-1(121-133); LMN-1(121-133)] This bioactive fragment of mouse laminin-alpha-1, termed A13 peptide (RQVFQVAYIIIKA) has been identified by Malinda et al (1999).
Malinda et al (1999) have reported that the peptide strongly promotes cell adhesion, endothelial cell migration and tube formation, and angiogenesis in an aortic vessel sprouting assay. Thus, the peptide sequence, either in the intact molecule, or existing as a bioactive matrikine fragment when laminin-1 is degraded, may stimulate different steps in angiogenesis
