liver-derived progenitor cells
abbr. LDPC. These cells constitute a progenitor cell population from adult rat liver that have not been exposed to chemicals and injury. The cells express stem cell markers such CD45, CD34, kit, and Thy 1, similar to hematopoietic stem cells. They also express endodermal/hepatic markers such as hepatocyte nuclear factor HNF3-beta, hematopoietically-expressed homeobox gene-1, met, and transthyretin.
