This is an antimicrobial peptide, VWLSALKFIGKHLAKHQLSKL, has been isolated from the venom of the wolf spider Lycosa singoriensis (Wang et al, 2016). Lycosin-II inhgibits the growth of Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus epidermidis, and multidrug-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii. Staphylococcus saprophyticus, S. epidermidis, Viridans Streptococci, Staphylococcus aureus, and A. baumannii are most susceptible to lycosin-II. Klebsiella pneumoniae and Streptococcus pyogenes are less sensitive to the peptide. The peptide shows little hemolytic activity
