abbr. mural LECs, muLECs. This cell type has been identified in transgenic zebrafish (Bower et al, 2017). The cells surround meningeal blood vessels, express lymphatic endothelial cell markers and form by sprouting from blood vessels. In larvae, the cells develop from a lymphatic endothelial loop in the midbrain into a dispersed, nonlumenized mural lineage.
