abbr. MyRPs. This cell type has been described by Yamamoto et al (2013). The cells are found within the phenotypic hematopoietic stem cell compartment in young mice. Hematopoietic stem cells can directly differentiate into myeloid-restricted repopulating progenitors via asymmetric division. The cells have high self-renewal activity and constitute a major source of myeloid cells. They are lineage-committed to megakaryocytes, megakaryocyte / erythroid cells, or common myeloid cells.
