Netrin-5 is a member of the family of Netrins, proteins that are involved in targeting of axons, neuronal migration, and angiogenesis and act as repulsive and attractive guidance molecules. Yamagishi et al (2015) have reported high expression of Netrin-5 in both transit-amplifying cells and neuroblastsin brain regions where neurogenesis occurs in the adult brain.
Garrett et al (2016) have reported expression of Netrin-5 in Boundary cap cells, a transient, neural-crest-derived population found at the motor exit point and dorsal root entry zone of the embryonic spinal cord.
