tropomyosin(112)
This is an N-terminally acetylated peptide with the sequence MDAIKKKMQMLK isolated from pig intestines . The sequence is found also in the human tropomyosin-alpha-1 chain, a protein involved in muscle contraction and stabilisation of cytoskeleton actin filaments.
The peptide has been shown to cause degranulation in human connective tissue mast cells with activities comparable to those of basic secretagogues such as substance P and compound 48/80, and function by activating the G-protein-coupled receptor MRGX2.
