This cDNA has been isolated by Li et al (1993) in a search for human genes containing triplet repeats, using CCG repeats as a probe. Many of these genes are known to expand markedly in length and cause neuropsychiatric disease. CCG-B7 is expressed in the brain. The sequence shows that it is human CD231.
