CXC-64

This protein is one of 5 CXC-Chemokines reported in zebrafish (Danio rerio). CXC-64 is closest to the catfish CXCL10 subgroup (Chen et al, 2008). Chen et al (2010) have described the genomic organization of the gene, which is most similar to CXCL11 in humans and CXCL10 in catfish. The chemokine is expressed in response to bacterial lipopolysaccharides, polyI:polyC, and TNF-alpha. The promoter is active in human and fish cell lines.
