This peptide of 9 amino acids peptide [PVNFKFLSH; Pro-Val-Asn-Phe-Lys-Phe-Leu-Ser-His] is derived from the alpha-chain of hemoglobin and was identified originally as a substrate of the metalloproteinase Thimet oligopeptidase (Rioli et al, 2003; Dale et al, 2005).
